Understeer

Understeer occurs when a car's front wheels lose grip before the rear wheels in a corner, causing the car to push wide of the intended line rather than turning. Drivers experience understeer as the steering becoming light and unresponsive mid-corner. Front-wheel-drive cars and touring cars are more prone to understeer under hard cornering loads. Setup adjustments such as softening the front anti-roll bar or increasing front wing angle can reduce understeer.
