About USAC National Championship Racing

The United States Auto Club National Championship covers three disciplines: Silver Crown (large-displacement pavement and dirt cars), Sprint Cars (non-winged 410ci), and Midget Cars. Founded in 1956 and historically tied to the Indianapolis 500, USAC's national series remain the gold standard for open-wheel oval racing outside IndyCar. The USAC Midget car is the most common pathway to IndyCar for American drivers.
